I've never used Zoom. Is it hard?
Not at all. After you register, you'll get an email with a link. At session time, click the link and Zoom opens — on a computer, tablet, or even your phone. You can keep your camera off if you like and just watch and play along. If anything trips you up, email us at info@simplifiedpiano.com and we'll walk you through it.
What if I can't make any of the live dates?
You'll receive the full replay, so you don't miss a thing. Many students watch the replay more than once as they practice — it's a wonderful way to learn at your own pace.
Is this one class, or a series I have to keep up with?
Just one class — Bethany teaches the whole bootcamp in a single live Zoom session. She's offering it on several dates, so pick the one that fits your schedule. That said, your $27 covers every live date this season: if you'd like to come back in a later month to play along again and ask more questions, you're very welcome to. Many students find a second time through is when it really clicks. Either way, the replay and e-book are yours to keep.
I'm a Simplified Piano + member. Do I need to buy this?
No — the bootcamp is included in your Simplified Piano + membership at no extra cost. You'll find it in your member area on Mighty Networks, and you're welcome at the live class on any of the dates. What level do I need to be?
This bootcamp is the perfect next step if you know a few basic chords and can play a simple song, but want it to sound prettier. If you're brand new, you're still welcome — when you register we send you Bethany's short beginner tutorials for each practice carol (the plain, basic way), so you can learn the chords before class and get the most out of the hour. Class itself is all about the three upgrades.
Do I need to read sheet music?
No. Everything is taught by chords — letters above the words, just like a songbook. Bethany shows you exactly where to put your fingers.
What kind of piano or keyboard do I need?
Any piano or keyboard with standard-size keys works great. A 61-key keyboard is plenty for everything in this bootcamp.
What's the difference between Simplified and Fancified?
The Simplified Bootcamp is the live Zoom training — three easy tools (rocking rhythm, sus chords, and broken chords) taught on carols you know. The Fancified Bootcamp is an optional, self-paced add-on: pre-recorded videos and an e-book covering richer left-hand and right-hand rhythms. It's a great step two once the Simplified tools feel comfortable. You can add it at checkout for $17.
How long do I have access to the replay and e-book?
They're yours to keep — this Christmas and every Christmas after.
What time zone is the class in?
